I'll list down a few places that you should visit when you are in Singapore, I would say staying here for about 3-5 days will be enough to experience the whole city as Singapore is a small country.
1. Marina Bay Sands
This will always be my favourite view and once I take taxi to the city, I overlook the Marina Bay Sands (MBS) and it will always make me happy and deep inside,
I feel lucky to have the opportunity to work and live here.
I don't usually shop or dine in MBS but it's famous for the light show and I absolutely love it. The Spectra show runs on Mon-Thu & Sun at 8pm and 9pm, and on Fri & Sat at 8pm, 9pm and 10pm. More here. Admission: Free seating :)
Another thing around MBS where people go to is the casino, I personally haven't been in because I don't want to pay admission of $150 but it's free for visitors! So if you feel like getting rich, maybe can try your luck as I heard from my dad that he won free stay at MBS for a week.
2. ArtScience Museum
Just outside of MBS theres an ArtScience Museum which is worth your money to visit at least once. I went for the Alice in Wonderland and I think it was Floating Utopias exhibition that was interesting and the exhibition took about 2 hour, we paid around $27 for two exhibitions.
3. The Gardens by The Bay
Another one of my favourite place is drinking at the rooftop bar, this place is called the IndoChine Supertree at The Gardens by The Bay. It overlooks the entire city but apparently it's closed permanently :( anyways, you can walk around the Gardens by the Bay and it's huge! Going there during night time will be best as the light is beautiful at night.
You can also visit the Singapore Flyer (Ferris Wheel) and overlook the entire city. It's worth to go once! :) but the ticket is about $33 per person if I'm not wrong. The image below is taken from their website here
4. Peranakan Houses, Katong
If you walk down the houses here, it's similar to the buildings in Penang or Melaka, Malaysia. It's Peranakan/Nyonya houses. The architecture is stunning and I am a sucker for the Peranakan tiles. Along the houses here, there are a lot of food to eat and a mall nearby called 112 Katong. There's also a famous Katong Laksa along the shop houses. I would absolutely love to live around this area but it's expensive.
5. East Coast Park
This will be my favourite weekend hangout spot, I recently found out that P.S cafe is at the East Coast Park and I really love the ambience. After having coffee, since it's near to the beach, I just feel like I am in a vacation :) . You can rent a bike and cycle around with your friends or family or just take a walk on the beach which is really peaceful.
6. Sentosa Island
Another one of my favourite spot is again a beach. The Tanjong beach club will be the famous landmark/place to visit if you are here. You might need to pre-book the seating area as it's very popular. I've taken the picture from the web as I don't have any nice picture of the seating area.
On a typical weekend, I usually hangout in a mall or one of the places above. I din't list Jewel Changi above as it's not really my favourite places but it's probably the most mainstream places for people to take pictures but staying here, I would always go to the places I've listed.
If you know some hidden or interesting places, let me know as I would love to explore :)
